LOSE ONE.

I got htis today and what I liked about it was the part about the premature baby.

Our baby Luke (now 19 months old) was born 7 weeks prematurely. I didn't realise at the time what dangers he was in, even though this was a planned C section because of his kidneys. Not until I'd been in the unit for a few days that a woman approached me and stared wistfully into Luke's incubator and said "Isn't it amazing what 3 weeks difference makes?" She showed me her baby girl (a 30 weeker) and I was astounded at how tiny she was, it's difficult to describe just how small she was and my feelings of gratitude at that point.

Luke, you are amazing. You have gone through so many difficult procedures in such a short space of time... some have been so bad that even I couldn't stand to be in the room. I want you to know that I admire you so much. You are so friendly and smiley to the doctors, nurses and surgeons... I'm surprised that you haven't learnt to distrust them all yet! They adore you right back, believe me. Nurse Julie almost begged me to send the ward a picture of you and others said they wanted to take you back to their homelands. I overheard one nurse telling other staff members that she'd never met a patient like you. She referred to you on our most recent visit as the boy who never cried.

So I stand in awe of you and I want you to know that I'm ever so proud of you. I'm so proud to be your Mum. It is a great blessing that's been bestowed on me to serve you while in our journey together.

I'll love you forever.
